Biography: Bishop
Larry A. Jackson
Bishop Larry Jackson is the founding pastor of Bethel
Outreach International Church in
Charlotte, NC. He currently serves
as a regional bishop for the Fellowship of International Churches (Bishop Wellington Boone, Founder and National
Bishop) in the southeastern region of the United States and the Vice President
of Strategic Planning.
Bishop Jackson serves as the Executive Director
of Charlotte Awake Network, an organization that originated out of a need for
church unity and accountability in the Charlotte-Metrolina region. Charlotte
Awake subsequently became a catalyst for change as local churches, ministries,
businesses and community leaders partnered together to champion a common cause;
that is, to spread the Gospel throughout the Charlotte-Metrolina region. To
reach their goal, they developed a strategy of Prayer, Care and Share.
Foundational components to
the success of the network are:
- Prayer - Experiencing God through a citywide Great Awakening
birthed in prayer
- Care - Uniting the resources of Charlotte to meet the needs of the
people
- Share - Igniting community transformation, block by block, one
heart at a time
Bishop Jackson serves on several boards, including
Kingdom Business Association, Transition Service of America, Charlotte Awake
and The Oak Initiative, which is a new movement that aims to help unite,
mobilize, equip, and activate Christians to be the “salt of the earth” and the
“light of the world”; working to effect positive change in today’s world by offering
practical, workable solutions to the world's problems.
Bishop Jackson is a nationally known Promise
Keepers speaker and has also
ministered across the nation and internationally as a keynote speaker in
conferences conducted by Men at the Cross founded by Joe White, Iron Sharpens Iron men’s movement and The United States Military and Leadership Conferences.
He has been a featured guest on INSP, The Inspirational Network, as well as the Praise
the Lord (TBN) program. He has also written articles for several
nationally recognized Christian magazines, including Charisma, Ministries
Today, and New Man. Bishop
Jackson is the founder and president of Frontliners Ministries, a ministry designed to serve the body of Christ through
men’s, women’s and couples’ ministries.
Bishop Jackson had a pivotal role in establishing Unified
2000, a ministry that worked to break
down the denominational and racial barriers that divide the body of
Christ. This ministry started in
Fayetteville, NC, in 1995 with the pastors and city leaders meeting regularly
for prayer. As a result of this
prayer assault, Fayetteville and the surrounding communities experienced
revolutionary changes, the most notable being a dramatic reduction in
crime. Bishop Jackson, in
conjunction with Transformation Michigan, has been able to continue this effort as he travels to key cities
throughout the state presenting to pastors a point-by-point strategy for
reaching their cities.
Bishop Jackson is the author of several books,
including Numbered with the Transgressors, a powerful book that will take you to new levels of intercessory
prayer; Guilt Free Living,
practical instruction on overcoming the spirit of lust in every area of life; Knowing
God by the Numbers, where readers
learn the secret of biblical numbers and how God is using them to speak to His
church today; and Beyond Reconciliation, a book in which he and
Pastor Michael Fletcher share important principles on how to establish covenant
relationships with those from a different cultural background. In August 2001, Bishop Jackson
released his first CD, Hear Our Prayer.
Bishop Larry Jackson is also the founder and president
of the following companies: Transitional
Services of America, a newly formed
Christian transition service and The Kabash Group, established to facilitate the advancement of new and
independent business owners while at the same time serving as a vehicle to
unite them.
Bishop Larry Jackson is a man who is in passionate
pursuit of the Father. His zeal,
energy and fortitude speak of his wholehearted commitment to the Lord.
Bishop Jackson and his wife, Joanndra, currently
reside in Charlotte, NC, with their four of five daughters.
